Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were an American hip-hop duo from Seattle, Washington, formed in the winter of 2008 by rapper Macklemore and DJ and record producer Ryan Lewis. In 2009, they released their first collaborative effort, an EP titled The VS. EP. They later followed up with VS. Redux, the Grammy Award-winning album The Heist, and This Unruly Mess I've Made.
